About Insurance Coverage

What You Need to Know About Insurance Coverage

Insurance Acceptance:

We work with a variety of insurance providers to offer coverage for medical equipment and accessories. It’s essential to verify whether your specific insurance plan includes coverage for durable medical equipment (DME).

Pre-Authorization Requirements:

Many insurance companies require pre-authorization before providing coverage for a medical equipment. This process ensures that medical necessity is established. We assist healthcare providers in submitting the necessary documentation to expedite this approval.

Medicare and Medicaid:

For Medicare beneficiaries, medical equipment are generally covered if the patient meets specific criteria, including a diagnosis of sleep apnea for use of PAP therapy. Medicaid coverage varies by state, so it’s important to check local guidelines for eligibility and requirements.

Documentation Needed:

To facilitate the approval process, be prepared to provide the following documentation:

A prescription from a qualified healthcare provider

Documentation of a sleep study confirming the diagnosis

Medical device supporting the need for PAP therapy

Cost and Co-pays:

Even with insurance, patients may be responsible for co-pays, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket expenses. It’s important to review your specific plan details to understand potential costs.

Rental vs. Purchase Options:

Some insurance plans offer rental agreements for medical equipment, allowing you to use the equipment while payments are spread over time. After a designated rental period, you may have the option to purchase the equipment for continued use.
